Many WW2 vets served in Vietnam
Unbeknownst to many unread Vietnam vets --who don’t know very much about their own war and -- who mistakenly believe that the Vietnam War was an isolated era fought only by our generation. In contrast to that misbelief, many WW2 veterans served in Vietnam as late as 1970 (just as a sizeable number of Vietnam veterans are serving in Iraq today... 30+ years after the Vietnam War ended.)
Probably the most famous WW2 vet who served in Vietnam was General William C Westmoreland who commanded a battalion in Germany (Battle of the Bulge) during WW2. The following is but one of thousands of Americans who continued to serve long after WW2...
