I am not sure who among the membership here received a Purple Heart for being wounded in combat. If you do then see below.
==========================================
The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is currently under construction in New York's Hudson River Valley at the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site.

November 10, 2006
Its mission is to collect and preserve the stories of Purple Heart recipients from all branches of the service and across the generations in an attempt to ensure that all recipients are represented. Their stories will be preserved and shared through exhibits, live and videotaped interviews with the veterans themselves, and the Roll of Honor, an interactive computer program preserving the stories of each individual.

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor the first in the nation to recognize the more than 800,000 Americans wounded or killed in action while serving in the United States Military.

For more information or to have your story preserved as a Purple Heart recipient, contact Michael J. Clark, Project Coordinator, National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site, P.O. Box 207 (374 Temple Hill Road), Vails Gate, NY 12584-0207, telephone 845-561-1765, or fax at 845- 561-6577.

Your experience along with all of our experience is always \ to talk about, but it is important to allow history to maintain the records of those / these men and women who so galantly served. Are you a member of the MOPH ?

I have almost joined a couple times, but always backed out before sending the application in. Not sure why. Just like I don't belong to VVA either. Oh well, maybe one of these days.

medivac can understand how you feel. Up until recently I did not join the VVA, until my local Purple Heart Chapter members did so as a favor to a friend of ours. It did not take long to find out that the VVA is not the organization that I nor my buddies want to be a part of..all political.

The MOPH is not, at least my local chapter. The guys are great and we do lots of things together, primarily helping to support our newest soldiers in Iraq and those who come home wounded. It is \ at times and yes I [ we ] have attended 3 services for KIA's once again, but it is our duty to support their families.

Remember not everyone gets to join the MOPH, you need to have been issued a Purple Heart which I wear along with my CIB proudly. My PH chapter hold a weekly PTSD group at our new local VetCenter just built by the VA.

Remeber any Vietnam Veteran incoountry or era Vietnam Veteran can join the VVA, but not everyone can join the MOPH.
